An extraordinary natural area between autumn and winter

Contemplating how nature transforms with the passing of the different seasons is one of life’s little pleasures. The weeks of transition, halfway between the season that is coming to an end and the one that is about to begin, are usually especially beautiful.

In an enclave as extraordinary as Pazo Baión, even more so.

The hills of our property draw breathtaking panoramic views, the bare vineyards prepare to take a well-deserved and refreshing rest during the winter and the chromatic festival of autumn gives way to the powerful winter landscapes.

Thanks to the pleasant climate of the Rías Baixas, visitors can see, smell, hear and feel nature without having to be exposed to the cold, protected by the proximity of the sea and the microclimate of our estate.

What better way to begin an unforgettable wine tourism experience than touring the many natural corners of a place as special as Pazo Baión?

Nature, history and wines make up an unforgettable wine tourism experience at Pazo Baión

The legacy of 500 years being part of History

The old Casa de Fontán and its estate have seen how the world has changed over five centuries. From the preponderance of the nobility to the advent of the digital era, through the consequences of emigration and the innovations of the last 100 years.

That is why we can say that every corner of Pazo Baión hides a piece of history. In our estate, the stones transmit us a centenary legacy and the care of the vineyards and the elaboration of our wines are part of a millenary tradition.

As we walk through the exterior and interior spaces of Pazo Baión we can feel the weight of history and discover the many transformations that Galicia has undergone during these centuries of radical changes. The noble origin of the property has given way to an innovative project in which a quality wine tourism space and an avant-garde winery coexist perfectly.

At Pazo Baión you will feel like you can travel to the past and imagine the future. An unforgettable wine tourism experience that will settle in your memory and stir your soul.

The only single-estate Rías Baixas

As we have just pointed out, one of the basic pillars of Pazo Baión is winemaking. For this purpose, we have a very modern winery installed in a historic building, in which centenary columns coexist with state-of-the-art technological instruments and devices.

The great differential factor of our wines is the origin of the raw material with which we elaborate them: the grapes. Pazo Baión is the only winery in the D.O. Rías Baixas that produces single-estate albariños. What does this mean? That all the grapes used to make Pazo Baión, Vides de Fontan and Gran a Gran come from our estate vineyards. This allows the winery’s winemaking team to control even the smallest detail in the making of our Albariños. From the care of the vines to the bottling.

In addition, the geography of Pazo Baión causes notable differences between some plots and others, so that the grapes from some vineyards can be used to produce Gran a Gran, our raisin wine, and others for Vides de Fontán, an Albariño that stands out for its complex and fascinating aging.

Throughout an unforgettable wine tourism experience at our estate, you can discover how we work, learn about the innovations implemented by our winemakers, and, above all, taste three Rías Baixas that have won critical acclaim and been praised by wine lovers. Three aromatic wines with a long development in the mouth that hide endless nuances and charms.
